35th Mid-Winter Conference Evaluation Survey Results

At the end of the 35th Mid-Winter Conference, attendees were asked to evaluate the conference facilities, presentations, activities and the conference overall.

On a scale of one to 10, with 10 being “most satisfied,” the following results were compiled from a total of 65 respondents:

Aspects that people liked about the conference included:

  • Networking opportunities
  • Motivational speakers
  • Legislative and employee benefit topics
  • Presentation on TxDOT CAPPS Implementation
  • Friendly and informative atmosphere
  • Technical topics for CPAs

One respondent summed up the conference by saying:

I like the structure of the conference. There is a great balance between deep informative presentations, motivational/positive presentations and the forward looking presentations that everyone wants to hear to see how the landscape of state work is shaping up. The conference also gives people a chance to meet others outside their own agency but who are involved in similar functions/work. It gives employees a chance to broaden their knowledge scope and see how their work impacts, or is impacted by others within the agencies.

Respondents also provide constructive feedback for improving future conferences. Suggestions included:

  • Breaking out in groups for audience participation
  • Asking speakers to provide more information

In addition, some respondents felt the executive/networking rooms were too “tight” and that TSABAA should consider changing the venue to the San Marcos Conference Center.
