About four or five years ago I woke up one morning, and as I contemplated the workday ahead, I asked myself, “How did I get here?” Yes, just like David Byrne of Talking Heads in the song “Once in a Lifetime.”
So what did you think of the 36th Annual Mid-Winter Conference held from Jan. 6-8 in Kerrville? The survey to determine just that was completed by 134 participants. Here is a snapshot of the survey results.
The top rated speakers were Deputy Comptroller Mike Reissig on “Managing in the Public Sector” (see lead story) and Comptroller Glenn Hegar’s Keynote Address.
Senior officials from the Governor’s Statewide Budget Division invited feedback from TSABAA members at the December 2 bimonthly meeting. The panelists stressed that the goal was to spark a conversation on improving the strategic planning and budgeting process, and agency representatives should feel free to contact them with detailed suggestions.
I hope that the majority of you were able to attend the 36th Mid-Winter Conference in Kerrville. Phillip Ashley and his committees did a great job putting together a great program, and there were some great networking opportunities as well. We value your feedback on the conference survey and will do our best to make adjustments for continued improvement.
