The bi-monthly meetings always include important and extremely useful topics. The timely bi-monthly on January 9th kept up that high standard with the Legislative Toolbox. Presenters from the Legislative Budget Board, Comptroller of Public Accounts and the General Land Office ensured that was the case. The Toolbox included information on fiscal notes, revenue estimating and the certification of the General Appropriations Act.
The presentations began with Adel Barrientos, Senior Analyst with the General Land Office. Adel spoke about how to write a fiscal note and what to be aware of and watch for during session.
Adel was followed by Sarah Keyton, Assistant Director at the Legislative Budget Board who talked about key budget issues for the 86th session.
Next up was Tom Currah, Chief Revenue Estimator at the Comptroller of Public Accounts. Tom provided an overview of how the revenue estimating process works and the forecast for the next 2 year period.
Closing out the presentations was Rob Coleman, Director of Fiscal Management with the Comptroller of Public Accounts. Rob provided information on how bills impact general revenue dedicated accounts, costing the General Appropriations Act and the funds consolidation bill.
