Texas General Land Office
The Texas General Land Office primarily serves the schoolchildren, veterans, and the environment of Texas. The agency does so by preserving our history, maximizing state revenue through innovative administration, and through the prudent stewardship of state lands and natural resources. This position is with our Financial Management program area and will oversee all Disaster Recovery Finance within Financial Management.
Performs highly advanced (senior-level) managerial work providing direction and guidance in strategic operations and planning. Work involves establishing the strategic plan and goals and objectives; developing policies; reviewing guidelines, procedures, rules, and regulations; establishing priorities, standards, and measurement tools for determining progress in meeting goals; coordinating and evaluating program activities; and reviewing and approving budgets. Plans, assigns, and supervises the work of others. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Veterans, Reservist, or Guardsmen with an MOS or additional duties that fall in the fields of Army – 00 Command Management Branch; Navy – Limited Duty Officer Line (General); Coast Guard – Management; Marine – 80 Miscellaneous Requirements MOS; Air Force – 10 Operations or other related fields pertaining to the minimum experience requirement may meet the minimum qualifications for this position.
