General Description

Performs advanced (senior-level) licensing work for pharmacy facilities. Work involves overseeing the receipt and review of pharmacy facility applications; ensuring compliance with laws and rules governing the practice of pharmacy; communicating with external and internal customers; and processing and approving licenses and permits. Work also includes creating and maintaining policies and procedures for licensing pharmacy facilities; auditing licensing files; and may represent the team in agency work groups for rule, form, or policy changes.  Must interact with public in a professional manner, sometimes under stress and deadlines.

Works under the minimal supervision of the Director of Licensing with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. May train and review work of other licensing specialists. Work is subject to review by Director of Licensing, General Counsel, and Executive Director, but is generally reviewed only when work is new, critical, unusually complex, or unprecedented.
