The Texas General Land Office primarily serves the schoolchildren, veterans, and the environment of Texas. The agency does so by preserving our history, maximizing state revenue through innovative administration, and through the prudent stewardship of state lands and natural resources. This position is with our CDR Grant Management program area. Grant Specialist I- Performs routine (journey-level) grant development and administration work. Work involves preparing, maintaining, and reporting of grants; evaluating grant applications to determine appropriateness of grant or compliance with requirements and standards; and serving as a liaison between funding sources and the state or federal government. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Grant Specialist II – Performs complex (journey-level) grant development and administration work. Work involves preparing, maintaining, and reporting of grants; evaluating grant applications to determine appropriateness of grant or compliance with requirements and standards; and serving as a liaison between funding sources and the state or federal government. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in public administration, business, or closely related field, and experience in the administration, development, coordination and monitoring of grants. Experience and education may be substituted for one another.
Salary and classification are dependent on qualifications: Grant Specialist I – Less than one (1) year of professional work experience. $3,500-4,000 monthly Grant Specialist II – More than one (1) year and less than two (2) years of professional work experience. $4,200-4,850 monthly
Preferred Qualifications: Experience monitoring, evaluating, processing and or auditing Federally Funded grant programs such as CDBG, HRP, HAP, or other HUD-Funded program. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
