Staff Auditor – Austin, Texas
The Office of the Governor is looking for a Staff Auditor (Auditor III) to work in the Office of Compliance and Monitoring.

What You’ll Do
This is a job that involves examining and reviewing accounting records and reports, financial statements, and management practices to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and/or regulations, as well as internal guidance. You will be called upon to perform on-site and desk monitoring reviews on grantees receiving funds awarded by the Office of the Governor.
What You’ll Earn
The salary is $4,850.00 – $5,583.34 a month ($58,200.00 – $67,000.08 a year).

What You Need to Get Hired
- Six (6) years of experience in auditing, accounting, compliance monitoring (financial), financial investigation, and/or grant management (financial). (Experience and education may be substituted for one another on a year-for-year basis).
- Experience with conducting desk reviews on grantees.
- Experience in examining management practices, policies/procedures, and financial accounting records to ensure standards are being met and to determine ongoing compliance with legal regulations.
- Proven ability to identify financial non-compliance issues by researching specific topics through interviews, analysis and review of backup documents relevant to review, review of prior audit findings, and other research techniques.
- Proven ability to prepare monitoring reports, including the preparation of workpapers, draft reports, and final reports incorporating grantee comments.
Other Things We’ll be Looking For
- Experience with maintaining well-organized and accurate work papers.
- Experience in communicating with grantees and providing technical assistance as needed.
