Please apply on CAPPS **This position is eligible for full-time telework within the state of Texas** The junior IT policy analyst performs junior level work documenting policies and similar documents. The position works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement. The position leverages critical thinking, problem solving, research, writing, meeting facilitation, communication, analysis, and documentation skills to develop policies and similar documents that are accurate and easily understood and followed. | Essential Job Functions: | Gather information necessary to develop policies or similar documents, or recommend improvements to them, by conducting independent research and facilitating meetings with experts and stakeholders. (25%)
Direct and organize tasks to meet established timeframes for the development of policies and other similar documents. (25%) Develop policies and other similar documents that are complete, easy to read and follow, and accurately reflect roles and responsibilities. (25%) Research, analyze, and apply to policies and other similar documents the operational practices, best practices, laws, rules, regulations and other requirements applicable to them. (10%) Ensure that developed policies and other similar documents meet quality and other standards established by their team and perform other duties as assigned. (15%) |

| Knowledge Skills Abilities: | • Skill in contributing to or developing policies or other similar documents used to explain requirements and responsibilities. • Skill in using the tracked changes and comments features in Microsoft Word. • Skill in working effectively with subject matter experts to understand concepts and jargon that are new or outside of your experience. • Ability to interpret, analyze, and explain policies and similar documents. • Ability to be customer service driven and a team player. • Ability to work effectively independently, as well as collaboratively with diverse groups of people. • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships. • Ability to be detail oriented and follow instructions. • Ability to research, analyze, and apply relevant information to assignments in a manner that is rigorous and comprehensive. • Ability to use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to proactively identify issues and propose ways to address them. • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the agency in virtual and non-virtual settings. • Ability to apply time management, project management, and multitasking methods to direct and organize tasks to meet timeframes. |
