This position is funded through August 31, 2025, with federal stimulus funds. Continuation of the position beyond that date is contingent upon available funding. This federally funded position will provide critical support for the agency to urgently address student learning loss due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Department of Grant Compliance and Administration is responsible for providing local education agencies (LEAs), and other grant subrecipients with guidance and technical assistance related to federal and state grant programs. The Systems Automation Analyst will create, administer, and manage web-based applications and data automation systems in the Department of Grant Compliance and Administration related to federal and state grant requirements and other ad-hoc projects.

The work of this role involves advanced (senior-level) computer system analyst, data management, and database administration related to internet-based applications and systems. This role will report to the Department Chief of Staff and plays a critical role in ensuring proper maintenance and utilization of internet-based applications and systems and has considerable latitude while keeping management fully informed of project status and workload.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Job duties are not limited to the essential functions mentioned below. You may perform other functions as assigned.Systems and Support– This role will provide analysis, planning, development, and troubleshooting for Smartsheet WorkApps, Dynamic Views, and other systems. This role will assist TEA staff within the Department of Grant Compliance and Administration to streamline workflows for efficiency and perform accessibility checks on generated documents for internal and external users and maintain various interface components.

1. Systems and Support – This role will provide analysis, planning, development, and troubleshooting for Smartsheet WorkApps, Dynamic Views, and other systems. This role will assist TEA staff within the Department of Grant Compliance and Administration to streamline workflows for efficiency and perform accessibility checks on generated documents for internal and external users and maintain various interface components.
2. System Process Automation and Efficiency – This role will train and inform staff on current Smartsheet systems and functionality, focusing on change management and quality use of data to improve efficient use of systems and existing workflows. This role will also provide technical support to Local Education Agencies (LEAs), Education Service Centers (ESCs), and other users on Smartsheet and other systems.
3. Technical Assistance and Guidance – This role will manage and respond to help tickets, emails from users, voicemails, and other communication from LEAs, ESCs, TEA staff, and other users, and is expected to respond in a timely and professional manner. This role will also be responsible for processing access requests for LEAs, ESCs, and other users to gain access to Smartsheet WorkApps and other systems.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university
• Experience: At least five (5) years of experience in systems analysis, database administration, or web-based application work (Excel, Smartsheet, Power BI, PowerApps, SQL, etc.).
• Substitutions: Education and experience may substitute for one another on a year-for-year basis.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate effectively with non-technical staff.
• A troubleshooting mindset with computers and applicable software to be able to make suggestions to leadership.
• Comfortable providing technical assistance or guidance to peers and external clients.
• Ability to engage in a collaborative, results-oriented team environment.
• A desire to self-reflect, give/receive feedback and continuously improve.
• Ability to identify opportunities to improve policies, practices and processes related to department functions.
• Experience with internet-based applications preferred.
