JOB DESCRIPTION:

Performs information security and cybersecurity analysis work involving planning, implementing, and monitoring security measures for the protection of information systems and infrastructure. Work also includes protecting cybersecurity assets and delivering cybersecurity incident detection, incident response, threat assessment, cyber intelligence, software security, and vulnerability assessment services. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Employees at this level may rely on direction from others to solve problems that are not standard. Occasional overtime and non-standard hours are possible. Various other computer support duties may be assigned as the become necessary.

Specific duties include the creation of cybersecurity policy and procedures documentation, management of cybersecurity awareness programs, coordinating with cybersecurity managed security service providers, participating in risk assessments, facilitating cybersecurity framework assessments, and managing vulnerability scans and penetration tests.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (License, Education, Experience):

Experience, education, and/or training that provides a well-developed understanding of the practices, principles, and techniques of planning, designing, maintaining, operating, and securing network systems. The ability to maintain a professional demeanor and the capacity to communicate in a respectful manner. A work or school history that demonstrates a strong work ethic, dedication, and self-motivation. Education and experience may be substituted for one another.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge and/or experience with NIST cybersecurity framework concepts, cybersecurity awareness training methods, vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and cybersecurity governance documentation (policies and procedures), Windows Defender and conditional access policies. Thorough understanding of on-premises and cloud network cybersecurity concepts. Ability to write system and application documentation, policies, and procedures. Graduation from and accredited four-year college with major course work in a computer science related field, and/or certificate achievement from a well-known source of information technology training and testing.
